HerWebCraft Academy is a nonprofit web design academy that helps young women become confident digital creators through practical training, mentorship and community.
Dorcas AddaiBaffour, Founder and Executive Director
Our story
It began with one woman's journey into technology.
With a background in computer science, design and web development, our founder knew how much a single opportunity, and a single mentor, can change a life. She also knew how often young women never get that chance.
HerWebCraft Academy was founded to create those opportunities: a place where young women discover their potential through practical digital skills, mentorship and leadership development, and leave ready to innovate, lead and build a brighter future through technology.
Why we exist
Finances, confidence and a lack of guidance keep too many young women out of technology. We work to lower those barriers so talent can lead.
Our mission
To equip young women with real digital skills, confidence, and the belief that they can build something meaningful.
Our vision
A generation of women who create, innovate and lead in a technology driven world, and lift their communities as they rise.
Our philosophy
Understand the fundamentals first, then use modern tools and AI with intention. Know the code behind every site you create.
Our values
What guides everything we do.
01
Access
Talent, not circumstance, should decide who gets to build. We work with sponsors and partners to keep our programs accessible.
02
Practice
We learn by making. Every lesson ends with something real on the screen.
03
Belonging
A sisterhood in tech, so no young woman walks this path alone.
04
Confidence
Skill and self belief grow together. We invest in both.
05
Character
Purpose, integrity and servant leadership shape how we teach and lead.
Our approach to practical learning
An immersive experience built for growth.
Students learn and build together in a safe, structured, immersive environment. Daily guided build sessions, real time support and small cohorts mean every student is seen, and every student ships a live website.
